Education Programs
Cardiac Rehabilitation Center (CARE) Provides education and assistance with lifestyle modification following a cardiac event. The program includes the teaching of survival skills and guiding points through progressive activities of daily living. Sessions consist of progressive exercises, risk factor modification, and maintenance. A physician referral is required. Community Health Information Services Provides literature on health-related topics for patients and their families upon request. Contact: Medical Librarian at 666-7467, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Parent/Teen AIDS Awareness Seminars are offered to parent and/or teen groups. Education to parents focuses on: What your family needs to know about AIDS; How to discuss AIDS with your teenager-what to say and how to say it. Education to teenagers focuses on: AIDS transmission and prevention; resisting peer pressure; making informed choices that will help protect your health for the rest of your life. Seminar provided free of charge to community organizations such as churches, civic clubs, and schools. Contact: Quality Assessment Services at 666-7809, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
CPR Classes Scheduled many times per year.
Enterostomy Therapy Professional patient educators and a Certified Enterostomal Therapist provide services in the areas of education and enterostomal therapy. A physician referral is required.
